Using the coastal wad, I am trying to create a bridge with 4 trapdoors in the middle. These trapdoors would open when Lara passes over them dropping her into a river below. However, I am having two problems with this. One Lara seems to pass through the trapdoors without them opening, and two whenever I place triggers for the doors it either crashes the game or the triggers have no effect on the doors. I have tried placing dummy triggers on the same square as the trapdoors (as mentioned in the manual) but Lara STILL passes through as if they are not there. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The only way I have found to stop this is to only place trap doors on the ground and don't shift them up or down. You may have to redesign your level around the doors. It will trigger fine then and she won't fall through.

Set the trigger type to "Dummy". That will keep Lara from falling through.

Whereas I had tried the dummy triggers to no avail, I had in fact raised the trapdoors a couple of clicks above the portal for aesthetics. Lowering it back down to the portal elevation fixed the problem. Thanks.
